SUNNIES OF THE MOMENT- Cat's Eye sunnies!

I think I should apologize for not blogging a lot since 2 months or so ago, it's just that I was experiencing a whirlwind in my life that I forgot about what to do first on a day, how to do it and do I really need to do it — all at once while day dreaming and over thinking many things. Anyway, those days are finally over and hopefully from this post on I can start blogging more.
First things first: Yes, I'm here in Kangaroo Land and I'm loving it. I'm now starting to miss some of my kitchen staples back home like Kopiko Brown Sugar coffee and Lucky Me Instant Pancit Canton but I'm surviving. So to kick off my first Aussie blog post I'm sharing with you another first that I made here which is a bridal headpiece and I named it "Nyrelle" after the bride. Because of my very limited resources (gawd I miss Quiapo!) here, I wasn't able to buy the perfect materials I was hoping to use for this piece. I just made the best out of Spotlight and Lindcraft in terms of sourcing and all that. Overall I still think I did a pretty good job!
Here's Nyrelle having fun with her bridal headpiece. Isn't this shot so darn cute?
"Nyrelle" bridal headpiece is made of faux Cartimar
flowers, pearls, German crystals and rhinestones set on an acrylic comb.
Haha! I just had to share this photo to you guys cos' of all the wackiness it has.
Nyrelle initially forgot to include me in her list of thanks during her speech but towards the end of the program she grabbed the microphone again just to say sorry for missing me and told everyone how important it was for her since her hair (which she grew for several months for the wedding) was literally cut and styled according to the piece that will settle on her head. Thank you Nyrelle, that was real sweet, just the simple things like this one truly make my heart melt.
The night was celebrated with unlimited booze, mouth watering dishes and good laughs topped with 80s party music http://facebook.com/itsadrifashion. And did I mention it was held on a football stadium? Oh yes, the entire thing was held on a room overlooking the entire well-lit football stadium through a glass wall—How cool is that?
Again, thanks and congratulations Nyrelle and Pete!
I know it’s been awhile since I’ve posted something here on my Updates, it’s just that work’s been crazy and I’m pretty much pre-occupied with some personal things I’ve been planning. Anyway, I’ll try to post as much as I can in the weeks to come, actually I have some sensible topics already lined up like my short article on being fashionable yet frugal (I so can relate!) and new Style Series entries.
For now, let me share with you a DIY (Do-It-Yourself) project I did a week ago. It’s an old pair of velvet flats that I remade to make it appear new, and somehow edgier. Here’s my easy 3-step description how I did this project, which you can also use as idea or guide how you can add some pizzazz to any of your footwear:
As I was strolling in a mall in busy Ortigas Center, I was super shocked to see these Prada-looking mens shoes. They were as if drawn out from the same creative minds of the Italian brand—exact same concept (oxford) with Abaca & saw teeth-shaped sole! Well I know this is an overrated topic but hey, don’t you just get frustrated when people deliberately copies and try to “own” something that you spent numerous hours to come up with? Some say that “Imitation is the best form of flattery” but let’s not be plastics and just admit the fact that inconsiderate copying could really hurt.
Since it is worth to flaunt the hard works of dressing up well (not to mention making some clothes & accessories to wear), I’m posting my first ever style diary. I never attempted to set-up a lookbook or a tumblr account so now that I have my own site I think it’s just appropriate to post my style diary here.
